Gardening in Nursery

In Nursery this week we have been outside a lot. The warmer temperatures have been lovely for us and also a sign that it was time to get some plants in our planters. Mrs Bowler had started some peas for us at home. We have also got some strawberry plants growing.

This term every pupil in the school had the opportunity to plant a sunflower seed. This was due to the very generous donation of seeds and compost by Ravensworth Nurseries. Some children may have already brought theirs home. We would love to see some updates as your sunflowers grow. They are a giant variety so should grow extremely tall! They will need to be put in a bigger pot or directly into the ground as they get bigger and supported with a stick.

We had some extra in nursery so they will be going in our planters too, to help attract pollinating insects.
