Today we learnt a little about static electricity. We learnt that everything is made up of positive and negative charges and when these charges are unbalanced between objects then they may attract or repel each other. This is why we could charge up a balloon and stick it to the wall or ceiling… or even our hair! We also learnt that ‘static shocks and lightening are caused by static build up being ‘discharged’. Best of all, we all looked like crazy scientists by the end of the day!
